What does it mean to be a member of CoServ? By joining our
cooperative you have become part of a unique entity, committed to
providing more than just electricity at a fair price. As a member,
you will receive:
Value:
Across the board, our managers and employees are continually identifying ways to ensure you receive the greatest value from your membership.
-
Actively Managing Costs and Supply:
We are enhancing our rate
competitiveness (even though our prices are already lower than most
retail electric providers in the Metroplex) by locking in long- term
supplier contracts and diversifying our power supply.
-
Capital Credits:
Profits earned by CoServ are
re-invested in the cooperative, while the value of the profit is
proportionally allocated to capital credit accounts maintained for our
members. When the cooperative has met certain financial requirements,
the Board may retire (pay) the capital credits to our members. Since
2003 CoServ has returned over $8.9 million to members and former
members.
-
Energy Conservation:
CoServ continues to add to the wealth
of energy saving tools and information available on our website.
Interactive tools such as the
HomeEnergy Calculator
and CommercialEnergy Calculator
are available 24/7, enabling members to uncover potential savings specific
to their homes or businesses. Energy consultants are available to conduct
home audits, analyze business load requirements or address power quality
issues via email at contact@coserv.com.
Service:
CoServ is "built to serve" you, our member. Therefore every action that we take, in any department, is evaluated by first asking "How will this benefit our members?"
- Accountability: The cooperative model encourages open communication. Because we are accountable to you, rather than to private stockholders, we are committed to actions and policies that will best meet your needs. Senior managers continually review member surveys and satisfaction ratings to ensure our services are in line with what you're telling us and that we're responding to your recommendations and requests.
- Representation: As a member-owner, you have a voice in the policies that govern the cooperative. In addition to electing district board members, you may attend annual meetings, vote on initiatives, and address questions to the Board of Directors and management.
- Technological Enhancements: We are making significant changes to our technological systems to ensure you receive the best service possible. Amongst the key initiatives: a new website with increased functionality; the launch of an advanced SCADA and outage management system, ensuring that any power outages are responded to promptly and pro-actively; and modifications to the technologies supporting our customer service department to ensure your inquiries are handled quickly and effectively.
Community:
CoServ and its employees continue to play an active role in "energizing life" in the community. After all, we live here too!
- Commitment: CoServ
believes in giving back to our community. In addition
to founding the CoServ Charitable Foundation, CoServ
actively supports such initiatives as Operation Roundup,
Habitat for Humanity, Adopt-a-School programs and
sponsors the Frisco RoughRiders, to name a few. Grant
applications can be found on the new CoServ Charitable Foundation
section of our website.
- Safety: Safety is our number one priority. That means our employees focus on promoting the safest environment possible at all times. CoServ representatives provide safety training for emergency responders and are also available to conduct lessons at local schools. Tips for safety-proofing your home can be found on our website.
